Herbal Remedies for Bruises

Bruises may seem to be a minor health concern, but then again, it occurs because the small blood vessels inside the skin burst or got damaged.
Bruises is normal when your skin get bumped badly onto something or if you stumbled and fell to the floor while doing something. But if you get bruises easily without severe physical contact, you could be suffering from a health concern worth diagnosing.

There are herbs that you can use against bruises. These are:

  • Rosemary oil Treatment: Rosemary oil is a good topical treatment for bruises. However, it works best on bruises on their latter stages.
Once the bruise had turned yellow or green, apply a generous amount of rosemary oil to it. The oil can help stimulate the circulation of the blood around the affected part.
  • Lavender for Bruises: Lavender has both anti-inflammatory and pain-killing properties. It can also stimulate the spleen, an organ helpful in the clearing of bruises. Just get enough lavender oil and put a few drops of it in cold water. Use a clean cloth and soak it in the mixture. Put it over the bruised area for speedy recovery. You can also use cold compress.
  • Black pepper for Bruises: Black pepper is effective for bruises because it can help heal the damaged blood vessel. However, pepper should be diluted well in water. This herb requires careful preparation as it can damage the kidneys if not used properly.
  • Comfrey Remedy: Use a cold comfrey compress to treat bruises and it would heal faster. Or soak a cloth into a cold infusion of comfrey. Its anti-inflammatory action works perfectly on the skin, while its active ingredient allantoin helps repair the damaged tissues. Don't use comfrey if you're pregnant.
  • Catnip for Bruises: Catnip oil can also be used to treat minor bruises. Just apply a good amount of catnip oil on the affected area and that would expedite the healing process.
